By injecting damping fluid (usually silicone oil or glycerin) into the shock resistance pressure gauge, can improve the shock absorption effect, this oil instrument is often used in situations where the equipment vibrates greatly.
The oil filling amount should be enough to immerse the entire movement hairspring. In actual operation, the position of the movement's hairspring cannot be seen with the naked eye. Therefore, according to the general rule, make sure the damping fluid level reaches 3/4 of the dial diameter.
Would it be better if the pressure gauge was completely filled with liquid? Taking into account the influence of the measured medium temperature and the ambient temperature, the damping fluid expands due to heat, which will cause the pressure gauge to have internal pressure, this causes the pressure indication to be inaccurate. Therefore, it is generally not recommended to fill the pressure gauge with filling fluid.
